I first came in contact with the Bamenda Apalis Birth in 2016 when I was out in the field for research flora and fauna in the lowland forest and dry savanna. Bamenda was my area of studies.
CHARACTERISTICS OF THE BAMENDA APALIS BIRD
They are fairly small in size
They are insectivorous. Personally, I witness them feeding on ants and termites.
They are mostly brownish or dull greenish in colour.
They have a strong vocal cord and it’s evident by the strong and loud sound they produce. They are thus easily heard than seen.
Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and dry savanna. Reasons why it is in Bamenda. It is threatened by habitat loss.
